A Second Time for a Good Cause – CyberShield Donates Again to Labdoo

It remains a sad reality: the production and disposal of electronic devices often come with significant environmental and social burdens. At the same time, these very devices - laptops, monitors, and more - form the foundation of our daily work at CyberShield in the field of OT security. So we can't completely do without them. But we can take responsibility.

That’s why we focus on conserving resources by using our devices for as long as possible. Once they no longer meet our requirements but are still in working condition, we gladly give them a new purpose: we hand over well-preserved equipment to Labdoo - a globally active, volunteer-run network that gives children access to education through IT donations. The devices are equipped with learning software and delivered CO₂-neutrally by flight volunteers to schools and projects both in Germany and abroad. Even broken devices find their way through Labdoo - either to be repaired or properly recycled.

On May 19, 2025, it was that time again: We handed over several devices - such as laptops, mobile phones, headphones, etc. - to Heinrich Wegener from Labdoo. In doing so, we’re making a statement - for more sustainable IT usage and greater educational equity worldwide.

We’re happy to extend the lifecycle of our devices while giving children access to digital education. Because education is a key - and every working device can help open a door.
